Oh My Goodness, I Won Something!

Sitting at my desk, bashing away at my laptop on a smoggy Wednesday morning with a mountain of soggy tissues on one side of my desk, I decide to take a quick break from editing to check my emails …

And I discover The Dropout Diaries has been named Foodie Blog of the Year in the 2013 Asiarooms.com Bogger Awards!

I have a very teenager-y OMG moment and forget about the kicking in my guts, my aching hips, my stuffed-up head, my hacking cough and the fact that I’m on antibiotics for the third time during this pregnancy. Suddenly I feel GREAT!

Winning

I feel like this, but happier and more pregnant.

I re-read the email: the prize includes S$300 in Asiarooms.com vouchers. WHA-HOO!

I waste quite a bit of time checking out the availability of fancy rooms in Ho Chi Minh City, Sydney, Brisbane and on the Sunshine Coast and working out when (before April) we can live it up FOR FREE!

I read the email again and realise the blog is also named as a finalist in the Review Guru section. So much excitement and no one to share it with — one of the (few) drawbacks of working from home.

And so many other interesting blogs in the list too, including Where Sidewalks End by the lovely Ian who we met in Chiang Mai. The procrastination possibilities are endless!

The news is so exciting, I just felt the need to share it with you. I hope I don’t sound too conceited.

And now feel free to return to your regular programming.

Unless of course you want to suggest where I use my Asiarooms.com voucher?

Congratulations! I love Asia too, and am glad I came across your site, today! The food in Vietnam is to die for, and I’m looking forward to spending time reading your posts. Suggestion for your travel voucher (fingers crossed it’s deposited in your direction)…The Valley Villa at Alila in Ubud, Bali (good excuse for a trip!). It’s a real treat, and the food is great too.
And, I just wanted to let you know that I’ve nominated you for a Liebster award for not only up and coming bloggers, but that are inspiring to me. Cheers, Anna.
