Desperately Seeking … Something

Snotty, overtired, cranky, headachey and scratchy-throated.

That’s me AND Miss M.

You can imagine how thrilled I am to discover she’s a worse patient than me, expecting 2, 3 and 4am cuddles. And spending all day whining. Unlike me, who likes to follow the 70-30 rule. (70% whining, 30% napping).

I decide to throw a bit of a pity-party in my office, slumped over my laptop while Darling Man attempts to entertain Miss M downstairs.

Then I mentally slap myself for being so negative. I try to be positive. What would I really like to be doing right now?

FIVE STAR RESORT.

Oh yes please. Even though I am not usually a five-star girl. I really think I deserve a bit of pampering right now.

And so I start clicking around the Bangkok Kempinski site.

Oh yeah, I need a kid’s club.

I need Thai-style five star attention.

I need lounging by the pool.

I need champagne and chocolates. And fluffy hotel bathrobes.

I NEED A LUXURY SPA!

I see that the Kempinski Hotel Bangkok has welcome gifts and complimentary bedtime milk for kids. And a babysitting service.

I unconsciously give a small squeaky moan. It is sick parent heaven. No, wait, it is just heaven, full-stop.

I decide to turn part of my wishful thinking into reality and tell Darling Man I’m going out for a massage. And I feel soooooooo much better afterwards.

Darling Man is now on notice that next time we’re in Bangkok, he is taking me to this hotel. AND he is going to enjoy it.
