Pack Up Your Troubles …

Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag and smile, smile, smile.

Yep, just like the 1915 marching song recommends, we are packing up and heading off for a fun-filled few weeks.

The birds and the dog are in the care of our helper. The street cats will be fine without us, I’m sure. (I think we’ve found a solution to that problem too, nothing that will upset the people who left such passionate comments on my last post.)

We are heading off to Cambodia!

I’m so excited to be able to revisit Angkor Wat with Darling Man and Miss M. I can’t wait to see Bayon temple again, the mysterious faces of that place haunt my dreams five years after my first visit.

We are taking the scenic route to Cambodia, through the Mekong Delta and the border town of Chau Doc. Then a slow boat to Phnom Penh and a bus to Siem Reap, the town next to the amazing ancient temples of Angkor Wat.

We’re on the road already. And already there’s already plenty to smile about.

This sign from the bus, for example.

Oh, that sounds great! We loved Cambodia (more than Vietnam, ahem).
Do you already have a place to stay in Siem Reap? If not, I strongly recommend the “Okay 1 Villa”, they have a rooftop pool, lots of chiseled wood and the friendliest employees I have met in my life.
    Enjoy your holidays!
